About Us
A Tradition of Taste
The Denison Mustard Company was established in Crawford County, Iowa near the town of Denison, in 1885 by a German immigrant named Nikolas Moeller. Mr. Moeller distributed his one of a kind mustard in a large barrel to customers by horse and cart. Upon his death, his son Fred continued to make the mustard until 1939 when it was sold to Al E. Ehlers. Mr. Ehlers eventually sold the business to Deitrich Vannier, however, we are unsure what year the sale took place.
It was on February 8, 1957, that Mrs. Vannier sold the mill and original recipe to my grandparents, Garth and Hilda Fuller who were looking to supplement their declining farm income and build a business that could stay in the family. The Fuller family continued to supply the local stores and filled special orders for many years. After Grandpa Garth’s passing, Grandma Hilda continued to run the business with my Dad, James (Jim) Fuller. My parents, Jim and Georgann Fuller kept the legacy going when they took over the business in 1995.
To appeal to a broader range of mustard lovers and keep up with the competition, our parents introduced Iowa Country Honey Mustard in 1997 as well as Iowa Country Dill Mustard and Iowa Country Garlic Mustard soon after. Throughout the years they created several more flavors to choose from!
Denison Mustard (Iowa Country Mustard)
Iowa Country Honey Mustard
Iowa Country Dill Mustard
Iowa Country Garlic Mustard
Iowa Country Hickory Smoke Mustard
Iowa Country Barn Burner Mustard
Iowa Country My Thai Mustard
Iowa Country Volcano Mustard
After my Dad’s passing in 2015, my husband Dan and I decided to keep the family business going strong and continue to offer the same great products to our customers.
Whether Denison Mustard is a family favorite or you are trying for the first time, we truly hope you enjoy our mustards!
